Bayou Animal Services has implemented a lifesaving program to help homeless animals in need of medical care. The program is called STAR which stands for Special Treatment and Recovery.

Animal sponsorship helps animals find loving homes, provides spay/neuter surgery, medical care, behavioral enrichment, and supports legislative and public education efforts designed to save the lives of pets all across the City of Dickinson.

In a perfect world, all cats would have a loving home. Unfortunately, unaltered pet cats permitted to roam freely either become feral or produce feral offspring.

On August 23, 2022 the Dickinson City Council passed, approved, and adopted an ordinance related to Animal Cruelty by adding definitions, regulations, procedures, and penalties related to animal cruelty and neglect.
